27 ~ January 2024

I took a 2 hour walk on Monday January 15th morning, with the temperature right around zero when starting out. (a good day to test my winter gear). The dogs stayed home; it is pretty hard on their paws when it gets that cold. (I have some musher's wax but don't know where it is; I will probably find it in July 🙂 ) This woman came by and we waved to each other. I got on the bridge just as she was heading west on the bank of the river. A memorable image.

More journal notes:

The washingtonpost had a good article on legacy yesterday. (link included below from my google docs). In the comment section someone posted this quote:

"Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.” ― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

How Will You Be Remembered? Katherine Kam, Washington Post January 14, 2024 (

“Wherever you go, go with all your heart"
